Application Requirements:
1. Your portfolio URL or images of your art work (5 images)
2. A brief residency proposal (casual & flexible, just share your vision!)
3. Preferred dates
4. Family details (if applicable)
5. Application fee (Currently $0 until April 30th, 2026.)

Seasonal Residency Periods:
Spring: March – May
Summer: June – August
Fall: September – November

Residency Length:
1 week to 3 weeks (For a longer stay, please contact us.)

Expectations: We do not place productivity or public presentation requirements on residents. Artists are free to experiment, research, create new work and rest as they wish.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with notifications sent within 2 weeks.


1. Residency Fee

  • Pre-Launch Promo (June & July 2026): $700 per 1-week session – Limited introductory rate for our pre-launch weeks.
  • Regular Season (August–November 2026): $900 per week – Artists may stay 1, 2, or 3 consecutive weeks.
  • Includes exclusive use of the traditional Japanese house, private studio space, and basic utilities (electricity, water, Wi-Fi).

2. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A 30% non-refundable deposit is required within 14 days of acceptance to secure your spot.
  • Balance: The remaining balance is due 30 days before your residency start date.
  • Payments Accepted:
    • Secure online payment via Stripe (Major Credit Cards, Klarna/Afterpay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay accepted)
  • Cancellations:
    • Deposits are non-refundable.
    • For cancellations made more than 30 days before arrival, any balance paid beyond the deposit will be refunded.
      • Note: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected changes to your plans.

3. Additional Guests

  • The residency fee covers one artist.
  • For partners, collaborators, or family members staying overnight
  • Family members are welcome for an additional fee:
    • $150 per additional adult per week
    • $100 per child under 12 per week
    • Maximum of a family of 4

4. What’s Included
